Itinerary
- We will pick you from any hotel in Kandy and leave for Anuradhapura. The Sacred Bo Tree in Anuradhapura, also known as the Sri Maha Bodhi is the most popular historical Sri Lanka Attraction in here.
- Anuradhapura is one of the ancient capitals of Sri Lanka, famous for its well-preserved ruins of an ancient Sri Lankan civilization. The city, now a UNESCO World Heritage Site, was the centre of Theravada Buddhism for many centuries.
- You will be then visiting the Isurumuniya Temple which is a Buddhist temple situated near Tissa Wewa in Anurdhapura. There are four carvings of special interest which are the Isurumuniya Lovers, Elephant Pond and the Royal Family.
- Next we visit the Ruwanwelisaya Stupa which is a hemispherical structure containing relics, in Sri Lanka, considered sacred to many Buddhists all over the world.
- Next you visit the Thuparama Stupa which is located in the sacred area of Mahamewna Park. This is the earliest Dagoda to be constructed on the island.
